About the role
You will work as part of Growth Teams’ new engagement in Ghana, launching in 2026 in partnership with the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), Ghana’s leading economic think tank. Together with IEA, we are working to help the Government sharpen its economic growth priorities—providing it with the evidence to set a clear, targeted agenda for economic transformation—and to build a coalition of government, private sector, and civil society actors committed to that agenda.
This engagement begins with an updated analysis of what is holding back Ghana’s economy, and of the sectors and reforms with the most potential to drive growth and job creation. This role sits squarely at that entry point: you will help produce the quantitative and qualitative analysis that anchors the engagement, then help carry it into the coalition-building and implementation work that follows.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Design and lead quantitative and qualitative analysis, using primary and secondary data, that diagnoses the constraints on growth and productive sectors in Ghana.
- Partner directly with IEA researchers to co-produce analysis, pairing Growth Teams’ action orientation with IEA’s institutional standing and local expertise, and build their capabilities to produce this type of analysis independently in the future.
- Translate analytical findings into a specific, sequenced, actionable set of recommendations for the Government, and develop the outputs—diagnostics, models, and briefs—that clearly communicate those findings and recommendations.
- Support the design and facilitation of consultations with government and private sector actors that feed into the analysis, help engage the Government on the findings, and build a coalition of growth-oriented actors aligned around specific priorities.
Reporting
The Junior Partner will report to a Senior Partner working on the Ghana project and Managing Partner(s) at Growth Teams, and work closely with IEA researchers in Ghana.
About you
We are looking for more than a strong technical expert. We want someone motivated by our mission, who understands from experience what it takes to turn analysis into real change, and is energized by that challenge.
- 4+ years of experience in quantitative and qualitative economic analysis, using real, often messy data to answer a specific, applied question, in economics, public policy, research, consulting, or a related analytical role.
- Strong data skills (comfortable in Stata, R, Python, or similar) and familiarity with using AI tools for research and analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience engaging productively with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, research organizations, and donors; experience with coalition-building or stakeholder management is a plus.
- Strong written communication, with the ability to turn complex information into clear, easily understandable outputs.
- Demonstrated interest in economic growth, structural transformation, or productive sector development in Ghana or comparable contexts.
- Patience and grit in navigating uncertain and challenging professional environments.
- Comfort working as part of a global remote team.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Preferably based in Ghana, or willing to relocate, but not required. Remote work is possible for Year 1.
